Sweet Tastes of Torah Cancelled for 2021
To the Northern New Jersey Community
We hope that you are safe during these difficult times, and that you are finding connection even in this period of isolation.
We appreciate the support that you, our community of dedicated adult learners, have shown the Sweet Tastes of Torah program over the years. In the summer and fall, the Sweet Tastes of Torah Planning Committee explored ways that we could offer a virtual edition of our popular program in 2021. We concluded that we could not move our program online and maintain the quality of education and the sense of togetherness that we have come to expect from our in-person event.
We look forward to the day when we will be able to move forward from the hardships of the pandemic, and gather for Sweet Tastes of Torah in the way to which we have become accustomed. We pray that February 2022 will afford us the conditions to again showcase the rabbinic talent in our region and convene the many community members eager for more Sweet Tastes of Torah.
With wishes for peace,
Rabbi Beth Kramer-Mazer and Rabbi Steven Sirbu, Co-Chairs
Sweet Tastes of Torah Planning Committee

The North Jersey Board of Rabbis (NJBR) seeks to enhance the life of the North Jersey Jewish community; better understand how to use their positions to ensure the long-term spiritual and fiscal health of congregations or Jewish community organizations; and take a united stand, when appropriate, on issues confronting the Jewish community.
Originally founded decades ago as the Bergen County Board of Rabbis, the name was changed in 1977 to include rabbis of all streams who live or work in Bergen, North Hudson, or Passaic counties, New Jersey. The founding members, as are its present members, were also interested in fostering bonds of collegiality and building understanding and cooperative relationships among rabbis of the different religious movements in Judaism.
